You know, an Australian musical is a rare beast, I bet you can’t think of many with original music, right? And, one like Audrey with a Hollywood twist, that’s set in Melbourne. Yes, Priscilla, Dusty and Shout were all successful Australian shows but they used well known pop tunes, they had no original score. Audrey is the real thing, like the classic musicals – The King and I, Les Miserables or Stephen Sondheim’s Follies… only it’s being created right here in Melbourne, right now. It's been playing out for everyone to see on Facebook and all my social media pages for a couple of years. I can't imagine how many posts I've put out on Audrey the musical. I can't believe it's found a home at the Melba Spiegeltent. Yes sir, Audrey from Hollywood is finally coming to Collingwood. I’m sure I’ll be doing somersaults as Audrey Hepburn and I Consider Our Assets rolls along towards opening night. To dream the impossible dream, right? Well, to quote the two leading ladies from the show, Liz O’Sullivan (you’ll love her she’s from Glen Huntly) and Audrey Hepburn…Nothing's impossible! The word itself says 'I'm Possible,'
See you after the show. Cheers Noel :)
